- Science and Education for Water Services
In 1998, the Capacity Development of Water and Environmental Services (CADWES) research team was formally established at
Tampere University of Technology (TUT).
As its mission CADWES has defined "to produce usable knowledge and education,
based on multi- and interdisciplinary research, on the evolution and development of sustainable use of water services
and water resources in a wider institutional context: organisations, governance, management, economics, legislation,
policy, rules and practices".
LATEST NEWS
The 3rd Watertime Workshop ”Sustainable and Participative Decision-making in Good Governance of Water Services” was organised by the CADWES team at Tampere University of Technology. The workshop had altogether 50 participants from 18 different countries. Oral presentations were given by 11 invited speakers.
The first PRINWASS project meeting was held at University of Oxford, 22-23 April 2002 the CADWES team being a partner.

Dr. Nyangeri from University of Nairobi, Kenya and prof. D.A. Mashauri from University of Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania were also involved.

”Management of water, wastewater and solid waste services in comparative historical and futures perspective”, a Nordic Research Workshop supported by NorFa, was organised at Tampere University of Technology on 10-12 June 2001. There were 23 participants mainly from the Nordic and Baltic countries.
