Dr. Jarmo J. Hukka has 37 years of professional experience in the water sector, including 12 years of overseas experience. He has worked in water and sanitation projects in the Cayman Islands, Sri Lanka, Kenya and Kosovo. He has also worked as a Principal Water and Sanitation Engineer in African Development Bank in Tunis. He was responsible for the ADB’s water and sanitation sector portfolio in the Anglophone West African countries.
His research interests include water sector reforms and governance, asset management, green economy, sustained institutional structures, sustained provision and production, and strategic development of water services. He has authored 200 publications and holds an adjunct professorship in futures research in water sector at the Institute of Environmental Engineering and Biotechnology, Tampere University of Technology, Finland.
